چکیده

Abstract Artificial Intelligence regulatory developments have been ever-increasing in both academia as well within policy and governmental settings. Whilst extensive literature has published on the topic of how such regulation should be developed, question to whether AI-specific or focused software general remains unexplored. In this commentary paper is explored after arguments for technology-specific use technology are provided.

The Uses of Artificial Intelligence in Business

ion is a perplexing problem. Perhaps we cannot design such a machine. However, if we cannot, it will be difficult for existing machines to cope with people who are increasingly more complex. This is a catch-22 situation, with machines expected to be real experts while, at the same time, people or the problems become more and more complex than they were before such devices came into being in the...

Should We Regulate Financial Information?

Regulations that require asset issuers to disclose payoff-relevant information to potential buyers sound like obvious measures to increase investor welfare. But in many cases, such regulations harm investors. In an equilibrium model, asset returns compensate investors for risk. By making payoffs less uncertain, disclosure reduces risk and therefore reduces return. As high-risk, high-return inve...

Artificial Intelligence and Artificial Life – should artificial systems have rights?

The defining features of intelligence, consciousness and life are not clearly prescribed. We cannot say of X that if, and only if, it has properties p, q and r will it also have intelligence, be alive, or be conscious. What we tend to look for when ascribing inner states to another system – I shall use the term ‘system’ to cover both organic and inorganic entities and I shall examine three diff...

Some Theorems We Should Prove

Mathematical techniques can be used to produce precise, provably complete documentation for computer systems. However, such documents are highly detailed and oversights and other errors are quite common. To detect the “early” errors in a document, one must attempt to prove certain simple theorems. This paper gives some examples of such theorems.
